China Has Become the World’s Largest Producer and Consumer of Aluminum Composite Panel

In the late 1960s, German developed a new kind metal curtain wall material---aluminum composite sheet and established large-scale production enterprises. In the competition with foreign counterparts, the leaders in the domestic industry increased their exchange earnings by 130 times from 2002 to 2003.

According to the national statistics, there are 204 aluminium composite panel manufacturing enterprises which includes all state-owned enterprises and non-state-owned enterprises with annual sales income of more than 5 million yuan. More than 80% are non-state-owned enterprises among them. They mainly distributed in Guangdong, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong and Jiangxi and so on. In 2009, the annual sale of the entire industry was about 23 billion yuan and the annual production was about 240 million square meters, which ranked first around the world and accounted for more than 90% of the total amount in the world.
